Two weeks ago, Simone and I took a guided tour of the Building Commission’s new headquarters – the Goods Shed in the Docklands. $63 million refurb and fitout makes it the first 5 star energy rated and Greensmart commercial heritage building in Australia. Done by Elenberg Fraser and BVN (interiors), it creates an open plan office in the existing heritage listed shed, with many break out spaces. All materials, furniture, fixtures, fittings, heating, cooling, even the smoke detection system, were selected on their green characteristics. Then again, for $63million, you’d hope so!
Great tour anyways, goes for an hour, very informative, and free. Check it out.
